Reflecting on the grafters in Circle 8 Bolgia 5, think about times in your life where graft has been prevalent. In the situation, were you the one on the giving or receiving end of graft? Explain the situation and compare and contrast it to the sinner whom Dante addresses in this Bolgia. At least 5 sentences.

There have been times where I have bribed others to give me homework. In this case, I was the grafter. However, I have also been on the opposite end of the spectrum when others have bribed me for homework. This is similar to the sinner that Dante encounters because he told Dante that he would speak to him if he was set free from the tar for a moment. Dante was fooled by him. When he was set free, the sinner began to run away instantly. The situations are similar because they both involve one person bribing another to get what they desire.

There has been a few times when I have encountered Grafter or I have been the Grafter. The biggest thing that I know of is when colleges and universities recruit highschool kids. Schools offer lots of kids money so tat they will go to their school and play sports for them. This is not too harmful but it is a good example. Unlike Dante though most of these kids are not tricked while they are being bribed, Dante was tricked by the sinners to talk to the demons so that the sinner could escape. This worked and before Dante could do anything about it the sinner was trying to escape. These two examples show how the person or people bribed others so that they can get what they desire.

The sinner Dante encounters in bolgia 8 uses a lie to try and get out of a situation. He tries to take advantage of Dante and the demons by going back on his word and attempting to escape. Situations like this also occur in our everyday lives. It may not be to an extreme extent like what we witness in circle 8, but bribery and the manipulation of others is prevalent in today's society. People often bribe others for their own personal advantages.

There have been situations where I have been either the grafter or someone was a grafter against me. Grafters are people who bribe others for their own personal benefit. I have had people offer me money in return for answers to homework questions. This is a similar situation to that of which happened in Circle 8: Bolgia 5 of Dante's Inferno. A man tried to bribe the devils to turn their back. Both situations involve someone bribing another to get what they want.

In Circle 8 Bolgia 5, Dante encounters the grafters. Graft is a bribe that usually involves the giving or receiving of money, but it can also include other mediums. Graft has been prevalent in my life in the area of homework. There have been situations where people have asked me for homework in exchange for money, and in this case I am on the receiving end of graft. In Bolgia 5, Dante encounters a sinner who bribes the devils to turn their backs. In both my situation and Dante's situation, someone is bribing the other for their own benefit.

Grafting is the act in which somebody uses a lie for their own personal gain. There have been more times were a person has grafted me. Most of the time I help because I feel really guilty saying no to people;I really let them walk all over me. Those people fake you out and pretend to like. Then they ask for your help and just leave you when they're done with you.In Bolgia 8, the man tricked them by pretending to help Dante. Something like this also happened, and continues to happen to me. Except Dante learns from his mistakes, and I probably never will.

Grafting is the act of using a lie for personal gain. I have personally grafted people. I have also been grafted. Most of this grafting has to do with homework and things like this. Dante is not grafted in anyway like this. He trusts those devil things.

I believe there are many times where grafting is very prevalent in our everyday lives. There have been many times where my friends or myself have bribed each other into doing something. We may not think it was harmless, however, we don't realize that we are being grafters. Another way that I view grafting among teens is peer pressure. I feel that every teen is peer pressured by a grafter of some sort. Whether it be their friends or people that are older then them, being peer pressured into doing drugs or drinking is something that a grafter would do. The sinner that Dante encounters in Circle 8 asks tells him that he will talk to Dante if he lets him out of the pit of tar. The sinner bribes him into thinking that if Dante participates in his deal, Dante will be happy with the outcome. Just like people that bribe us into drinking. They make us feel like were going to like the outcome of drinking and that it will be "fun", but in the end it's not a good deal and we draw the short end of the stick.

There hasn't been a time where I actually was a grafter, It's usually in a joking manner. But there was a time where I encountered a grafter. I feel this happens to everyone on a daily bases, mostly teens in particular (per pressure). And of course these people are prevalent because they have a name for a reason and nothing seems to stop them until they get what they want. So in conclusion, this similar to circle 8 bolgia 5, because they both involve a bribe for their own desires.

In Circle 8, Bolgia 5 Dante encounters the Grafters. These are the people that bribe others in order to get what they want. This occurs in our society almost everyday. For example, politicians give and receive bribes. This leads to corruption of office and unfair elections.

There have been many times in my life where I have grafted or been grafted upon. I have been on the giving end of a graft when I try to bribe Joey into giving me his dog Enzo, although each time I give a better bribe he still refuses because Enzo is a tank. I have also been in an experience on the receiving end of a graft. Luc Madonna approached me in the hallways and said if I gave him my lunch he would pay me a large sum of cash, but I refused because I knew it was a sin. These incidents can relate to the sinner in Dante's Inferno because in both I tried to or was tempted with a bribe, in which the sinner grafted the demons into letting him escape and it was false information nonetheless, just as I knew Luc was giving me false information about giving me a large sum of cash.

Personally, I haven't had to delt with graft much, however, I am most likely at fault when it comes to me and my sister. More so in our younger childhood, I would often bribe her to do favors for me. Although this is not extravagant, instances of graft have played a role in politics and the hierarchy of the church. The sinner Dante encounters in this bolgia deceives him (and the demons) then escapes. In relation to today, issues of bribery are done privately and do not always get caught.

In Circle 8 Bolgia 5, Dante and Virgil encounter the grafters. Grafters are people who use others to get exactly what they want. In today's contemporary society, peer pressure and bribery are very common. In my personal experience, I have been the grafter and the person being bribed. I have either been the person who got answers for homework off someone or had someone get the answers from me. Dante and Virgil believe the malebranche and let them lead the way. Like Dante and Virgil, we seem to fall for these grafting experiences and we do not notice until it is to late.

In this Bolgia, we encounter the grafters. Often people use homework in school as a type of this. Often I will bribe people to do something for me because I am lazy or too tired to do it. Normally it is just a chore or small task, but nevertheless it is a sin. Dante was accused of this in his life, which explains why he was exiled from Florence.

Personally I don't think I've ever been on the giving side of graft, other than jokingly. However, I have seen people in our school use graft for favors and homework. Peer pressure is also quite prevalent in today's society, and is a special form of graft in itself. While neither of these things really seem that serious, I think it's unfair to both the grafters and the people who have actually done what they needed to do. In a similar fashion, the sinner that tricked Dante and the demons committed graft in a way that didn't appear to be that serious, but really was a violation of God's punishment for him.

Virgil and Dante encounter the grafters in bolgia 5. These sinners committed acts of bribery in return for favors. Personally, I have not experienced acts of graft, but there are many times this happens in society. For example, if someone is guilty of a crime, they can bribe an individual into stating that they are innocent. In any case, the sinner is bribing another to receive what they want.

The main reason there is grafting in my life is for homework, whether I am the grafter or receiving it. The sinners in Dante's Inferno are still grafting in Hell, which is similar to students. Even though the sinners and students were told no, they keep asking and using others. This is also very common in politics. Special interest groups bribe candidates to support their issues. Grafting is common through every day life and according to Dante, even apparent in Hell.

In past experience I've been bribed by my siblings. I think everyone can relate to being bribed by a sibling. Even I am guilty of bribing my younger brother. Usually in these situations I would be fighting with my sister or brother and one of us will take it to far until the other ended up in tears and threatens to tell mom and dad. When that happens we will try to bribe each other so the other one won't tell mom and dad.

a grafter is someone who has tried to bribe another. I have grafted before. I have tried to convince my teachers to not give me tests by giving them food. this is not as serious as the sins in Bolgia 5 but it is still graft. I have also been bribed before, people have tried to bribe me with money for homework.

Graft is very prevelant in our lives today. People often use bribes to get certain things that they want. One time my friend gave me money to get something. I accepted it because I wanted the money. The people in bolgia 5 did stuff like this too because they were offered something good in return

Often times grafting can be relevant in our everyday lives. It happens in sports teams very often. If someone's parents are on the board or donate a lot of money to the team then there is a better chance that they make varsity. This is a form of grafting because their parents give money to the team because they know it will help their kid get more playing time. This is not as serious a sin as some but it is very relevant to high school students.

In Canto XXI, we meet the grafters. In our lives today, we also come across grafters. A student might try to pay another to do their homework. This would give the one student their homework, and the other would receive money. This is why both ends would be tempted to engage.

A very small instance of being a grafter is when last year I was late to homeroom and was about to be written up for coming in late, but was passed due to a few reasons. The reasons were that Christmas break was around the corner and that I also bribed my teacher with home baked cookies. She let me pass and allowed me to slip by the rules, but this is still an instance of grafting. If we apply this situation to government, only the ones with money make the decisions. This can also take the form of super packs running elections and those who bribe government leaders who make the decisions and represent us as the mass of people. Comments are closed.
