Reflecting on the grafters in Circle 8 Bolgia 5, think about times in your life where graft has been prevalent. In the situation, were you the one on the giving or receiving end of graft? Explain the situation and compare and contrast it to the sinner whom Dante addresses in this Bolgia. At least 5 sentences.

One time I had to translate some sentences in Spanish due for homework. However I did not have any time to do so, so I told my friend that I would give her 5 dollars if she did it. She did it and she gained 5 dollars for doing so. This is not as severe as the sinners Dante encounters but its a good example of grafting in a simpler, non harmful way. Although there are examples in political office that are major sins, but my example grafting is not as serious.

Someone once bribed me to do their homework for them but I declined. In this scenario, I was on the receiving end of a graft. This example is nowhere near as severe as the sinners Dante encounters. The sinner Dante speaks to an unidentified navarrese and learns about some of the other sinners in the pitch. They committed worse grafts involving things such as drugs or money. 3/17/2016 11:42:21 am

There are many instances in which I have been on the receiving end of graft. I remember when I was little that my parents would always tell me that I could have dessert only if I finished eating my dinner first. Bribing me with dessert was always the form of bribery they chose. It is nothing compared to the grafters in bolgia 5. Theirs were far more serious and could lead to some major harm.

There are not many situations in my life where grafting is present. However, I have been payed to do a small handful of things that were either wrong or immoral. My friend AJ has payed me to do a number of stupid things such as telling someone some stupid joke. Dante's sinner is much more severe than this venial sin. His sins could cause a much larger amount of pain to others than mine.

There are multiple instances where I have witnessed both ends of grafting. In school, we get difficult assignments, and not everyone wants to do them. We play sports, have other homework, and maybe even work. Students can bribe each other for assignments, I assume. I have been on the receiving end of graft if someone wants homework. Sometimes people ask me.

There have been many instances in my life where I have been on the receiving end of graft. One specific instance that sticks out to me is when someone asked me to give them a midterm study guide. By giving them the study guide, they would have given me a different study guide in return. This example of graft isn't nearly as serious as the graft that we encounter in bolgia 5. Graft comes on many different levels, some not as severe as others, but they are all wrong.

My friend once told me that she would let me copy her history if she could copy my math. I declined this offer, but it is a form of grafting. This form of bribery is not as serious as the grafting the sinners in hell partook in. They took large bribes to get where they wanted instead of working hard. Because these sinners were involved in serious forms of bribes, they are punished in hell.

My parents use grafting all the time to persuade me to do certain things. For example, my parents pay be two dollars in order for me to empty the dishwasher. Although I did not directly bribe someone I still was a part of it. No matter what end you are on, the receiver or briber you are still classified as a grafter. This is a small sin in the realm of grafting although it still classifies as one and can land you in hell if you consistently take part in it

We all know that some assignments we receive at school are time consuming and often times, people who are busy will ask others to copy their homework. Sometimes, friends will depend on other friends to give them answers. In my experience, friends will ask for homework and promise to return the favor for another assignment. Although it may not seem like graft, it is in fact a less severe form of graft, when compared to the sinners Dante and Virgil encounter. The sinners Dante and Virgil see have perpetually bribed others and the cases are much more severe than what we see as high school students.

There have been times in my life when I have been on both ends of graft. I can remember times when my friends will say they'll do one homework if I do the other, which is graffting because they made the offer of "they'll do the other" to try and persuade me. I also know there have been times with my parents when they won't let me do something I want so I use a form of graft to try and change their minds. I tell them i'll do anything they ask or ill clean my room or something that would make them happy so they will let me do it. Although these cases are much less serious then the sinners in this canto, they are still considered graft because they are in one way or another a form of bribery.

Graft is not very prevalent in my life, and never really has been. However, there have been times where people have tried to bribe me, but they are for meaningless things such as food. There have been other times in my life where the sin is worse. There have been people throughout my life who have tried to bribe me for things such as homework. I believe that graft occurs all the time in our society, but most of it is nor nearly as serious as the graft that Dante committed.

I have experienced graft, but it was not to the extent that Dante describes in the inferno. The grafter was my little brother, who at the time wanted to play on my computer non-stop. His attempt at bribing me to let him play even more brought him to offer me some of his Halloween candy. This is not nearly to the extent of the grafters portrayed in the inferno. In the book, the grafters are the people that were involved with bribes that put people's lives in harm's way.

Graft has never really been a common occurrence in my life, but one time a friend of mine bribed me with money to tell her something about someone else. In this situation, I was on the receiving end of graft. This is similar to the grafters in Inferno, because money is likely the most common form of bribes, and this is what many of the sinners may have used, like my friend. In contrast, I would have only gained $10 if my friend had succeeded in bribing me. The act was the same as those in the fifth Bolgia, but it was less severe/serious

Graft can be presented to me almost everyday. I see it the most when people need homework they didn't do, I usually bribe for the answers. Really Graft is everywhere because people always want something and when they can't have it they will stop at nothing to get. The people that the poets see in this canto have much more serious sins. However almost very person is guilty of trying to bribe some one for something they want.

I have experienced graft multiple times. Last year, we had a math assignment due that I completely forgot about. It was due next period so I could not complete it. I offered my friend some cookies if I could borrow his homework. He obliged. Obviously this is not on the level of Dante's grafters in Inferno, but is still a sin.

I experience graft everyday of my life. Although I am not generally involved in it, i do witness it. The few times I do get involved I am usually on the receiving end of it. Sometimes I am offered money for a favor or deed, which I accept. I do not realize it was a sin at first, but now I see the true horrors of graft

I believe that graft is very prevalent in everyday life. In my life, I have asked for homework. In return, I have offered my own homework. I have also given my homework in return for other people's offers. I regret these actions for grafting is wrong Comments are closed.
